Creating a Desert Scene with Copic Markers + Quokka Cowboys | Handmade Card + Giveaway!

Today I’m excited to share a brand-new handmade card project that’s extra fun, colorful, and perfect for anyone who loves scene building with their stamps and markers. In my latest YouTube video, I walk you step-by-step through how I created a warm desert landscape using Copic markers, along with the cutest Quokka Cowboy stamped and die-cut images. These little cowboys truly steal the show, and they bring so much personality to the finished card!

Building the Desert Scene with Copic Markers

In the video, I demonstrate how to blend Copic markers to create depth, warmth, and that classic desert glow. You’ll see how I layer colors to form sandy ground and that soft desert sky. The Copic color combinations and blending tips make it easy to recreate this background—even if you’re new to desert scenes.

The Quokka Cowboy characters were stamped, colored, and die cut before being added to the scene. Their adorable Western outfits and cheerful expressions make them the perfect focal points. They really come to life when placed against the rich desert backdrop!

Bandana Background Ink Blending

To frame the scene, I created a coordinating background panel using the Bandana Background Stencil. I ink blended a 6x6 panel to make a bold, western-inspired pattern that ties in beautifully with the cowboy theme. The pop of color and texture helps the main image panel stand out and gives the whole card a finished, cohesive look.
